Moving our family of 7 from a 5-bedroom, 4-bath home in Colorado to a 240-square-foot shed with no electricity, no running water and no working bathroom, one might question our sanity. However, through this crazy endeavor, we discovered the beauty of relying on each other and on God, we learned that we are better and stronger when we are together, we saw even more clearly that the expectations that the world put so heavily on families are all but unnecessary burden that we can live without.

We've enjoyed nights sitting around a campfire, telling stories and jokes, we've seen the kids step up in big ways every single day, filling up water jugs for the day, feeding the pigs, washing dishes in the creek, stacking up wood in the shed, and so much more.
We are constantly amazed at how strong and beautiful they are inside and out, how resilient and adaptable they are through all the never-ending changes in our day-to-day schedule and living situation. They get to witness their parents face struggles up close and personal and how we deal with them through prayers and discussions. They get to take part in major decisions and real-life problem solving. We would have missed all this opportunity if we hadn't taken the leap to homeschool, to move across the country, to say yes to God's calling. We wouldn't have traded this for anything in the world.
